We regret to inform you of the passing of one of our dear Israeli Dance Festival DC family members, Ruth Preuss. May Ruth's memory be for a blessing. Ruth was the matriarch of a three-generation Israeli dancing family in the DC area and had been a long time supporter of our festival, serving as one of our key volunteers greeting everyone as they entered the building for the show. At the request of the Preuss family, donations in her memory can be made to the Festival.
Ruth's husband, Peter has sent this message to the dance community:
Ruth died peacefully in her sleep on September 26, 2018, with her family around her. She was truly very special, someone who people immediately love from the first time meeting her. Always smiling, warm and genuinely interested in hearing about what’s going on with you. A friendly face and friendly spirit. She really had a sparkle that reflected her fun-loving personality. She was much too young and vibrant for this to happen.
